Bonduel Tournament Champions

The Bonduel Broncos capped a great week of baseball by winning their own tournmant in an epic 3-1 battle with the Manawa Spurs.

The Broncos started the night off right by getting the first two batters across the plate in the first inning to grab an early two run lead.

Eric Gruenewald threw an efficient 113 pitch complete game. His only blemish was a lead off homerun to start the fourth inning. Eric was rewarded for his efforts of two complete games in less than three days and
7-12 at the plate for the tournament. Eric stated, "It (his arm) hurt starting out the game, but after the third inning I felt strong in command." When asked what it was like to walk the first batter of the ninth inning, Eric stated, "I want to thank my catcher, Greg Henn, he always calms me down." Greg must have said the right words because Manawa had no answer for Eric's final inning of work.

Leading the Broncos in hitting were Greg Henn 2-4. Eric, J.C. Reinke, Luke Kostreva, Joe Leitzke, Jake Reinke, and Chris Blum all had one hit each.

The win is the sixth Bonduel Broncos Championship!
